Did you ever wonder why Jesus was a carpenter?
Did you ever wonder why He never had a wife?
Did you ever feel the love of God who became man?
Did you feel the pain when the nail went through His hand?

On Earth, Christ was a carpenter in holy preparation
For His present work in Heaven of preparing us each a home.
And on Earth, He remained single, for in His future Holy Nation,
We shall be the Bride for whom His Spirit had groaned.

So now I’ll sing this little song:
“My Saviour was a carpenter.
He worked with wood,
He died on wood
And rose just like He said He would.”

Did you ever feel the love of God who became man?
Did you ever know that you’ve been always in His plan?

You loved the sin and called it joy,
But soon you had a broken toy.

The nail of sin through Perfection’s hand.
Did you ever know a love so grand?
