“INTERNATIONAL PERPESCUITY JIBBLY DONUTS” by JTK.CA ::: That 50-year-old bespectacled, bearded, gray-winter-camouflage boonie-hatted man shuffling down the sidewalk, mumbling to himself, “INTERNATIONAL PERPESCUITY JIBBLY DONUTS”; yes, that was me. But, to be fair, I did just buy donuts; so, I’m only 75% insane. — @NudistPoet

“TAD MILANO” by http://JTK.CA ::: These will be the new frames for my new glasses. I was going for a 1960’s Professor look. πŸ˜‰πŸ’–πŸ˜Ž The brand name stuck on the demo lens is Milano. I love thinking up potential pen names, not that I need any more of an identity crisis between Tad, JTK.CA, and @NudistPoet, but TAD MILANO would make a cool pen name. — Jonathan Tad Ketchen ::: Pea Ess. I’ll just have to look forward to learning how to “look” at things again, since, I’ve had single vision lenses since grade 2, and these will be progressives (trifocals). Distance vision has not been a problem, but intermediate (computer screen) and reading (phone screen) have been a big problem. So with three focal lengths in my new lenses, I will no longer be FOUR-EYES. You’ll be able to call me EIGHT-EYES! πŸ’–

“UNPLANNED PARENTHOOD” by http://JTK.CA ::: Planned Parenthood has murdered millions of children in the womb, but their proponents say, but they give sex education, and contraceptives, and their education helps reduce abortions. Bull shit! Nazis prevented some Jewish murders too, by using them as Jewish slave labor instead (https://www.ushmm.org/wlc/en/article.php?ModuleId=10008292). So, are you commending the Nazis on saving some Jewish lives? — Jonathan Tad Ketchen

“SHADOW ILLUSION (Self-Portrait)” by JTK.CA ::: I took this photo while a student at Covenant College (www.covenant.edu), Lookout Mountain, Georgia, U.S.A., in the late 1980’s. The shadow illusion involves two shadows on the ground. One is a shadow of a lamppost. The other shadow is of me with my arm outstretched. The illusion is that my hand is holding the lamppost, when the reality is my hand was actually grasping at air. I simply moved my hand until the shadows made it appear that I was grabbing the lamppost. The lamppost and I were not even in the same location; the sun was just casting long shadows for me to play with.

“9-1-1: FARMER KEITH JONES MAKES A BREAKTHROUGH IN GENETIC ENGINEERING — TOUPEES IN A POD.” by http://JTK.CA ::: A huge fan of THE FAR SIDE® by Gary Larson, while in college in the late 1980’s, I created 9-1-1, my own cartoon panel series, the first two of which appeared in Covenant College’s student magazine, The Bagpipe. I liked to joke that I called my comic panel “9-1-1” because it needed help. Shortly after I left Covenant College, Dad took me to see Covenant College Chorale perform near Philadelphia, on their Chorale Tour. I had previously been in the Chorale with fellow student Keith Jones, and he was still performing in it, so it was great to see him again. When talking with him after the concert, Keith gave me a donation idea for my “9-1-1” comic panel. The idea was hilarious, “toupees in a pod.” That was 1990. I finally got around to drawing it in 2000, and now I’m finally publishing it in 2018. I’m Jonathan Tad Ketchen, Pr.D. (Doctor of Procrastination).

“I’M SO SQUARE!” by JTK.CA ::: I started using my old superzoom Canon 16 MP, 16x Optical Zoom camera again, since it’s way more compact and convenient than my bigger, bulkier, and more powerful SONY 20.1 MP, 63x Optical Zoom (which gets the moon almost 4 times bigger than the Canon). I’ll still use the SONY, especially when I want insanely close lunar photos. But the Canon still does an amazing superzoom job with the moon. Also, I just discovered a higher quality setting than I knew about previously when I used the Canon all the time, so picture quality may be even better. Also, today, I lit up with joy, when I realized that my Canon has 1:1 as an aspect ratio option! Now, I can do square photography, FINALLY! I love the idea of 1:1, which makes landscape versus portrait orientation a moot point!

“WATERMELON SUNSET” by JTK.CA ::: At Valparaiso University, in my Senior Solo Art Exhibit, this was turned 90 degrees (clockwise or counterclockwise — I don’t remember) and titled, “THE END.” My graphic design professor really liked it. However, long after the show, perhaps years later, I showed it to one of my cousin’s very young daughters, and she said, I see people holding watermelons. I turned it 90 degrees and saw it too. I sort of see rippled potato chip people standing on both ends of a gondola, each holding a watermelon. So, rotated from portrait to landscape orientation, “THE END” became “WATERMELON SUNSET.”
