The buck stops

With Susan Smith,

And we slay our kids

With impunity.

Strapped in her car,

Her children roll into the river,

Drowning in her “troubled life”;

They breathe nothing but water

Until they can breathe nothing.

She continues breathing,

And her truth’s deceiving.

She makes up stories

And excuses

To explain the child abuses,

And she mourns their loss

Because it’s not her fault.

She was abused,

So she abused her sons

To the point of death.

I suppose that makes her

Better than her abuser.

It’s easy to lay blame,

But we’re the very same.

The buck stops

With Susan Smith,

And we slay our kids

With impunity.

Strapped in our wombs,

Our children are burned in a river of salt.

We were assaulted by troubled lives,

So we assault our children

Because they’re just more trouble.

We rip them from their safety bubble.

Their little hearts stop beating.

From truth we are retreating.

We make up stories

And excuses

To explain the child abuses,

But we don’t mourn their loss

Because it’s not our fault,

And besides, our lives take precedence.

If women’s rights provide

For ending a separate life inside,

Then why not let Susan Smith

Control the destinies of those outside?

We kill our kids

With impunity.

The Culture hunts Smith down.

We say that she should die,

And the media gives us immunity.
