"THE ROAD TO SOMETHING"

I'm lost in the noise of my broken promises,
Happy and content in my pit of self-loathing.
But my silent contentment is shattered
By the ambush of all my hopes and dreams left behind
And by the terror at the thought of making a change.

Perhaps this poem is the first step
On the road to something.
