My most incredible small world experience happened in my first semester at Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, Georgia, which overlooks Chattanooga, Tennessee from the mountaintop. In my dorm room, above my bed, my ceiling area was covered by a huge Canadian flag. A friend from down the hall Andy Gienapp walked into my room and saw the flag. Andy said, “Oh, you’re Canadian!” I said, “Yep!” Andy said, “I was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia.” I said, “I lived in Sydney, Nova Scotia!” He said, “My dad was a pastor there.” I said, “My dad was a pastor there!” He said, “We lived in the manse at 169 Park Street.” I exclaimed, “I lived in the manse at 169 Park Street!” Amazing to be going to college and discover that I and a friend had lived in the same house over a thousand miles away! Andy’s dad was the pastor there, I think, two pastorates before my dad. — Jonathan Tad Ketchen
