Don’t expect Christmas presents
          from Santa anymore.
He’s been promoted to spokesman
          for sales at every store.

Santa’s older, and he’s broke.
He’s gotten weak and short of breath.
His lungs are full of creosote.

He’s under doctor’s orders
          to be good to himself.
So, he’s taken a job promoting Christmas sales.
Now he’s paid
To make you pay.

All good fairy tales come to an end.
