Life is a play

In which we show our true colours.

Life is a symbol of the contents of our souls.

It's a masque with masked actors

Of whom I am one.

Life's often a lie

'Cause I'm not having much fun.

Just allegorical actors with lives on our faces,

Too often ashamed to admit our disgraces.

Life is a lie,

And death is the truth.

I've often cried,

But please don't offer the proof!

Life is a play

In which we show our true colours

And see that we've lied

To our sisters and brothers.

True colours are false,

And false colours are true.

Life is a lie,

And death is the truth.

Just allegorical actors with lives on our faces,

Too often ashamed to admit our disgraces.

So many FINISH, but they're losing the races.

Life is a lie,

And death is the truth.

I'll admit that I've cried

If you won't offer the proof.
