I'm so alone tonight,
Wandering aimlessly
Through an empty house.

Hungry for love,
My heart in my stomach,
I'm so alone I cannot cry.

Then I think, my Jesus,
Of how alone You were
On Good Friday
When Your Father turned His back on You
As You hung in agony,
Cursed by Him, upon a tree.
An eternal bond forsaken,
No one else was ever so alone.

Forsaken by our Father
So I would never be,
You made Yourself King of Sorrow
As You gave Your Love to me
On Good Friday
When my hope was born.

I'm so alone tonight.
You understand and comfort me.
Alone with me,
You cry my tears for me
And wonder when I'll see
That I am not alone.
