After a Smokey Mountain forest fire,
The wild blueberries flourish.

One man’s disaster is another man’s dessert.

TAD'S NOTE:

From 1973 to 1982, age 5 to age 14, I lived on
Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada; for
the first three years, in Sydney; and then six
years in nearby Coxheath, where I learned the
wonderful meaning of "neighbourhood."

Cape Breton has a majestic landscape, and is
steeped in history. Alexander Graham Bell lived
in Baddeck, where you will find the Alexander
Graham Bell Museum. Ingonish Beach, along the
Cabot Trail, is the most beautiful beach I’ve
ever been too. Step back in time at Fortress of
Louisburg National Historic Park. Steeped in history,
and steeped in water, Cape Breton is surrounded by the
Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Being
surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation may be why
I look back on those years as formative ones in my
spiritual walk with God.
