I've never seen any of the ALIEN movies. 1,2,3, & 4 are all playing on SuperChannel OnDemand, so I may do a quadruple feature. They're available until Oct. 31. And, more importantly, SuperChannel shows them in Letterbox format. They do with most movies. I prefer SuperChannel over The Movie Network which does Pan & Scan versions of movies, because some morons like the ends of the image chopped off. Yes, I still have an old-fashioned 4:3 TV, so Letterboxed versions of movies are the only way to go for me. The black bars on the top and bottom are a GOOD thing. It means you're seeing everything you saw in the theatre. If you have an old 4:3 TV, and your entire screen is filled by the movie, you're missing the sides of the original image in most cases, since movies are shot much wider than old-fashioned 4:3 screens. I've got a bunch of LaserDiscs (yes, LaserDiscs), and whenever I bought one I made sure it was Letterbox (a.k.a. Widescreen) format, since, back in the early 90's, today's 16:9 screens had not yet become the standard. Blah, blah, blah. I'm picky. .................. "No! REALLY?" ;-)

I'll add comments on the ALIEN movies to this same blog posting, if and when I watch them. The great thing about freedom is I "may" watch them, and I "probably will," but I "don't have to." I go with the flow.
