i turned myself in to the cosmic police
who named a supernova after me
a brilliant explosion of narcissism

i wanted to be a star
i got my wish
not realizing I was a star before my fame

fame was the explosion
and I ceased to be what I longed to be
the centre of the universe
(or at least a solar system)
worlds revolving around me

now in fragments of fire
my children all ruined
and i am no more

just a puff of cosmic dust

fame gives way to solitude

By hopelessness
A tortured yet comfortable distress
