Love is patient,
Love is kind,
And, when it comes to past wrongs, blind.
In temper
It is stable;
And to it, truth is not a fable.
In faith
It is serene;
And it never is obscene.
Not self-centered,
But purified,
It does not wed itself to pride.
It is not jealous
Of what others have,
Nor does it boast of what it has.
It always protects
And perseveres
Because hope is ringing in its ears.
And when its archenemy
Evil ends,
Love will bind a billion friends.

I need an elbow pillow.
My jaw rests on my fist,
Aggravating my TMJ.
My right hand drives a mouse
Like a car pulling through a tunnel --

Carpal tunnel.
My eyes, they get all squinty,
Because I've been here the whole live-long day.
Web surfin',
Web surfin.
Is it really worth it?
My friends are all around the world,
But I'm just around my swivel chair.

Makes as much sense as Smurfin'

I'M A CN TOWERHOLIC!
One of the times I was visting Hanlan's Point Nude Beach on Toronto Island, I took this photo on the Ferry ride between the island and the city. I found the size perspective between the boat's short little post in the foregound and the humongous CN Tower in the background to be a fascinating visual flip. Perspective needs to be considered whenever we look at something. Huge and small are a matter of perspective, and perspective can be deceiving as in this image.

"DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH"

So many times
I've looked at myself
And then questioned the truths
Of eternity.
Christ says that someday
I'll be like Him,
But it's so hard to believe
In such a fantasy.
For the past day and a half,
I've been lost in a pain,
The incurable dismay
Of a rejection for all the wrong reasons--
Lies and cover-ups
By the brothers and sisters I'd accepted
In an alleyway of trust.
The sun had risen on the horizon of my destiny.
I could see my path, and my joy was complete.
But the curtain fell:
It was only a stage play on the stage of my life.
The props of polished mahogany...
Soon it was plain to see
The once-beautiful trees
Were hacked to death by the swings of an axe.
Christ came to His own,
But they turned Him away,
Later, cheering at His execution.
I came to my own,
Who received me at first,
Before they turned on me
With empty words and empty stares
In an empty room, once full of life.
Now I believe in the fantasy of being like Christ,
In which all the wrongs against me
Are for the right reason:
To make me more like Him.

'Thanks for your broken promises.
Thanks for your heartless bureaucracy.
Hidden behind your walls of authority,
Your desk is neat and tidy
But your heart is full of maggots!
Thanks for the orgy of interviews
That left me empty and writhing in the sea of waiting,
Waiting for...' "
"Yes Satan,
What am I waiting for?
I'll dial that number!"
Satan cheered me on as I dialed,
And we both waited as the phone rang forever............
..................................................................
.....................................................
"Hello, God speaking!"
"What?" I asked.
"God," He said.
"Wrong number!" I said.
"Hold on!" God said.
"HANG UP, FOR GOD'S SAKE!" Satan screamed.
And the silence was so silent
That you couldn't hear a pin drop...
As both God and I considered
The significance of what Satan had just said...
The silence exploded into laughter!
