One of my major pet peeves is the fact that the whole world celebrated the Millennium at the start of 2000, when it did not actually begin until the start of 2001. The reason 2001 began the Millennium is that the B.C. years to A.D. years transition went like this: "...4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3, 4...." There was no 0 B.C. or 0 A.D. With no zero in the system, the years went from 1 B.C. directly to 1 A.D. So, basically, math is not our society's strong suit, when it is believed that 1 + 2000 = 2000. It doesn't; it equals 2001, but the global ignorance was unsurpassed as we watched magnificent celebrations for 24 hours, as we crossed time zones, via television, from the comfort of our living rooms. But we were watching the cataclysmic fall of reason to the wrecking ball of hype, as we rang in a nine hundred ninety-nine year Millennium, wearing a necklace of genuine faux pearls that we also fell for.

Even my own intellectual preening is moot. Jesus was actually born in 6 or 5 B.C. (Before Christ). Yes, Christ was actually born "Before Christ." When setting up our current calendar system based on the year of our Lord, supposed human intelligence fell prey once again to reality. After all that calculating, we were obviously off by a few years.

And now, in the Era of Tolerance, naming the years after Jesus cannot be tolerated. No longer "Before Christ" or "anno Domini," we now live in C.E. (the "Common Era"), and the years before "the religious figure preferably erased from history" are now titled B.C.E. ("Before the Common Era"). The world makes it circuit in a cosmic wasteland, where we worship numbers and forget the "One" who made us, preferring compassionate math that calls no answer wrong.

Pink elephant?
What pink elephant?
I have no pink elephant in the middle of the room.

I've put it in a drawer, so I can pretend it doesn't exist.

I walked six hours yesterday to buy this new pink elephant
And the pills to make it go away.

The old pink elephants were destroyed.
"Pink elephant" erasers on the ends of my pencils --
I use them to erase my mistakes,
And as the pink elephants erode
Next to a pile of eraser shavings,
I know each pink elephant will soon be gone.

But they're never really gone.

I use pink elephants to erase any record of
My pink elephants.

I am relieved when the eraser is scrubbed to a stump,
So I can toss the lump.

I feel fine for a while
Until I'm beguiled
Into needing a new dream chaser.
Yes, I fear once again you'll see
My new pink elephant eraser.

Dear Earthlings,

Being the son of a pastor, I've moved around quite a bit, having lived all over Canada and the U.S. However, I am now happily and permanently settled back in the province of Ontario, Canada. Really, I never plan to leave the province's borders. There's enough in Ontario for a lifetime. Any further travels will be by way of DVD ;-)

I'm the only nudist in my family (that I know of). I think God threw me in the mix to make the family more interesting. Not that it was boring before. It's a great family, and I wouldn't trade it for any other.

The province of Ontario allows topfreedom for women wherever it's legal for men. Outside of nudist environments and events, though, I've never seen a topfree female in public. I thought I did once, and was really excited, until she got closer, and I noticed she was just wearing a flesh-coloured top ;-)

There are lots of nudist environments and events, though, in southern Ontario, where I am. Not in my city of Guelph, but there are plenty nearby.

I've been to three of the nudist resorts within an hour of Toronto.

I was a member of http://TheFourSeasons.com for a couple of years but cancelled my membership because I didn't go enough to make it worth it, and I couldn't afford it. It is the closest to me and basically a straight line when driving to it, but I don't drive.

I also occasionally attend organized nudist swims at indoor public pools in the Greater Toronto Area. I do this with Sandy's group http://nnbares.fcn.ca and with http://orbToronto.org

Generally, though, I don't get out very often to nudist events or environments. I'm on Disability pensions for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. With the OCD, I have a hard enough time leaving my apartment, let alone leaving my city. So, I'm mostly a home nudist, although I share my nude self-portraits (from mild to wild) on my http://NudeCreations.com website. And I spend my whole life naked. Except for going out once a day for about 3 hours, I'm home naked 21/7. My home "is" my nudist resort, so I remain naked, whether or not my guests are. My home is my nudist sanctuary. My home; my rules.

My eighth grade teacher Mrs. E. Moulins got me to fall head-over-heels in love with English grammar, as opposed to some teachers today who get you to fall head-over-heels in love with them. That was the last year of my Canadian schooling, in Nova Scotia. Then we moved to upstate New York, where I could definitely feel the advantages of my previous Canadian education, especially when it came to English grammar.

In grade twelve, in English class, I took and aced a test which exempted me from having to take the grammar portion of the English curriculum. In place of it, I did an independent project, writing poetry. That was the 1985-1986 school year. It was a small Christian school, and I graduated number three in a class of fifteen. Across all subjects, I think my GPA for the year was 87%.

While in college, in 1989, I decided to compile a book of my ten best poems. I'd written about thirty, up to that point. Self-publishing that photocopied, very thin book of poems was when I started taking poetry seriously. Over the years I've self-published several other books and booklets of my poems, selling some, but giving most away to family and friends and strangers on the street.

In 1995, I compiled every poem I had ever written into a binder-full of 482 poems, called "MEMORIES OF TOMORROW", and gave several away to family and friends, partly as a way of protecting my work, in case I ever lost my originals. Soon after, I did a thin follow-up book of 38 poems, called "PREDICTIONS OF YESTERDAY" ;-)

So my last official count of ALL my poems was 520, but I figure I surpassed the 700-mark long ago, so now I just say I've written several hundred poems.

This newest pearl of wisdom was inspired by the fact that I was sitting naked (like always) in my apartment, with the giant fan on, and still dying of the 29 degree Celcius heat; then I checked the outdoor temperature on the left of my facebook profile, and it read 13 degrees Celcius. That brought me to my senses, and I opened the windows and added the little fan in my bedroom window (to blow my apartment's heat to the outside), thus, completing the ventilation cycle.

Duh! ;-P
