Dad's a retired pastor now, but he has had churches all over Canada and the U.S., so I've lived all over North America.

Eventually, I got my Bachelor of Arts from Valparaiso University (www.valpo.edu), Valparaiso, Indiana. My major was ART (with a GRAPHIC DESIGN concentration), and my individualized minor was THEATRE AND DANCE. Naturally, this all led to several janitorial jobs ;-)

Now I'm permanently and happily settled in Guelph (pronounced "Gwelf"), Ontario, Canada, eh? I've been in my own Guelph apartment for 9 years -- it's the longest I've lived in one spot. Since 2004, I've been retired on Disability pensions for my Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I've always wanted the life of a cat, and now I have it! ;-)

My parents live just 2 km down the road from me, and I go to their place for supper each night.

Of my brothers and I, I am 42, Mike is 41, and Steve is 36. Mike and Steve both live in Scotia, NY (near Albany), with their families.

I'm still single and desperate, but I'm a lot more content with my perpetual singlehood than I used to be. As much as I'd like to come home to someone, it is kind of nice to not come home to someone ;-)

Life is good, and I'm happy.

Everything's clear,
Perception is pixelated.
I see you in high rez.
But don't let me zoom in on you too closely,
Or you'll turn into a block-head.

I've been at the Mac too long;
I see in pixels.
You're 175 lines per inch,
Perfect for an art magazine.
You are beautiful.

I used to see you in dot matrix
And thought you had absolutely no character.
But my Digi-Tech eyes have been upgraded,
And now you print out on my psyche crisply and clearly.

I used to see you in analog.
It had its advantages,
But I saw all the flaws
That now fall between the pixels
When translated into the crisper, clearer
Digital vistas of your soul.

If you think this is a cheap attempt at
Cyberflattery,
You're right!

The tech specs on Apple's newest invention, the iPad (not the iPod), say its display has a "Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating". I'll have to go to the Apple Store in Toronto to see for myself, once it's available for purchase. The specs also say the iPad screen is glossy. Ick! I really wish Apple would offer an Antiglare Option on ALL of their products, not just their most expensive laptops. I loathe glossy displays! If I want to see my reflection, I'll use a mirror! I want an antiglare (matte) finish on all my tech's displays and bodies; I find reflection-free stuff in the stores once in a while, but not often.

I really think iPad was a stupid name choice, as o's and a's look very similar in some fonts. iPad and iPod are too close to sounding and looking alike, as words. Illiteracy is rampant on the internet. Apple really should have been more considerate of people who can't spell or speak properly.

"INSPIRED BY NOT HAVING TO BE INSPIRED"

I'm inspired by the fact that I "don't have to" be inspired. I've been retired on Disability pensions for my Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) since 2004. Not having the pressures of work or finding work lets my creativity flow freely. I share my Creations online http://JTK.CA and it is mainly because I "don't" have to. If I were being an artist for a living, I think I'd just move into procrastination mode and starve to death. Obligations (with my OCD) cause me so much stress, that I have as few obligations as possible in my life, so that I can just go with the flow, peacefully. The thing I love about sharing my art is that I "don't have to." ;-)
